Tribune Co plans to sell the Newsday daily newspaper on Long Island to News Corp (NWSa.N) for about $580 million, The Wall Street Journal reported online on Monday, citing sources familiar with the situation.

Appearing with a group of college students on Fox News (why are Clinton surrogates always on FOX these days?) yesterday, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said that a lot of young people "drink the Kool-Aid" of Obama's speeches. Check out how the students push back at that!

Tribune Co has reached agreement in principle to sell Newsday to News Corp for about $580 million in what would be a joint venture, according to a source familiar with the matter. Under the terms of a deal, Newsday would be part of a joint venture with News Corp's New York Post and other News Corp assets.
